Stroke Care Measures at BIDMC

In 2018 BIDMC received Advanced Certification for Comprehensive Stroke Centers by the Joint Commission. Hospitals achieve this certification by demonstrating that they have specific training and resources in Emergency Medicine, Neurology, Radiology, Lab Services and Nursing Care to receive and treat the most complex stroke patients. The Stroke Care team assures that we are consistently providing the best care to our stroke patients based on National, State, and Internal Stroke Care guidelines.

Since 2008, BIDMC has been recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a Primary Stroke Service Provider.

BIDMC also participates in the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's “Get with the Guidelines Stroke” program — a national collaborative aimed at ensuring best practices and strong outcomes for all Stroke patients.
