Hematology/Oncology Fellowship
Training in Hematology and Oncology
The BIDMC Hematology/Oncology Fellowship is designed to nurture the development of future leaders in the field and to provide superior clinical and research training in a supportive environment. Expert faculty members in the Division of Hematology & Hematologic Malignancies and the Division of Medical Oncology work with fellows as instructors, mentors, and future colleagues.
There are abundant opportunities for mentorship, collaboration with other services through multidisciplinary conferences, and additional training throughout the Harvard system. The program's goal is to produce scholars and future medical leaders who will devote their careers, in different proportions, to patient care, teaching, and clinical, translational, or basic research.
The Hematology/Oncology Fellowship provides trainees with the opportunity to develop outstanding depth and expertise in areas of their choice and is designed to meet the professional and educational goals of each of its fellows. We provide 2 tracks:
- The Traditional Hematology-Oncology Track for fellows who seek training in both Hematology and Medical Oncology
- The Hematology Track for fellows who seek training in Hematology with a chief focus in Classical Hematology.
In our commitment to the furthering of knowledge in the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, we welcome, celebrate, and promote respect for the entire variety of human experience. In our commitment to diversity, we welcome people from all backgrounds, and we seek to include knowledge and values from many cultures. Our commitment to work toward an environment that values diversity requires that we create, promote, and maintain activities and programs that further our understanding of individual and group diversity. Our program fosters strong bonds amongst our fellows and faculty, through peer-to-peer learning, mentorship, and team building through dinners, retreats, book clubs, and so much more.
